CVS to hire 15,000 to help with COVID-19, flu

CVS is preparing for a winter season that could be busier than usual.
The drug store chain on Monday said it plans to hire 15,000 additional workers in the fourth quarter to help out with what it sees as a likely increase in demand for health services as the winter months could fuel a resurgence in the spread of COVID-19, coupled with a normal uptick due to flu season.
More than 10,000 of those additional jobs will be for full-time and part-time licensed pharmacy technicians that could help administer COVID-19 tests and vaccines at CVS locations around the country.
No vaccine has been approved yet for distribution, but there are several vaccines in late-stage clinical trials, fueling hope a vaccine could be approved before the year is out.
The hiring spree announced Monday at CVS comes on top of the 50,000 new employees the drug store chain said it would take on back in March to help customers battle the outbreak.
